Praveen Varanasi is a Legal Intern at the Richman Law & Policy Group. He focuses on animal welfare and environmental projects, serving with Clark Binkley and Jay Shooster. Praveen is focused on advocating for animal rights and environmental protection to create a more humane and sustainable food system.
Prior to joining RLG, Praveen worked at the City of Tampa, managing the budgets of various City Departments and providing economic consulting to the Mayor. Praveen has also interned in the United States House of Representatives, The Humane League, and the Conservation Initiative for the Asian Elephant. During law school, Praveen interned with the New York City Law Department's Environmental Law Division, and served as the President of the Student Animal Legal Defense Fund and Co-President of the Environmental Law Society.
Praveen is currently pursuing his J.D. at Columbia Law School and graduated with a B.A. in Economics, Political Science, and Sustainability Studies from the University of Florida.
